Build Your Dune: Winners

The very first building contest for Dune: Awakening is over and we are simply blown away by the participation!

Thousands of you joined in the fun, sharing buildings into which you clearly put so much heart, time, and effort. We’ve watched your videos and checked your screenshots and read the backstories you shared – even though that wasn’t required to participate!

Selecting winners among all of these amazing buildings was incredibly challenging. We’ve had long deliberations and a lot of back-and-forth. While all participants are winners in our hearts, we ultimately had to select the ones that we thought did the best based on our criteria. We’ve also expanded our Honorary Mentions size to include more of you!

If your building isn’t featured here, don’t be afraid to post it on social media, our Discord server, the subreddit, and elsewhere if you haven’t already! If you are featured here, we will be reaching out to you about your prizes. If you submitted through Pimp My Dune and have won, you will receive an email within the week. If you won elsewhere, you will receive a DM from the official Dune: Awakening account. CHOAM

« A trade center run by CHOAM mercantiles. It has two watch tower’s, one at the peak of the center to watch for incoming sand storms in the distance. And another on the ground to watch for sand worms attacking from below. It’s unique pyramid shape helps protect the building from high winds and sand erosion over the years. Harkonnen

Atreides

« The Windchime Monastery, working as a school for the Atreides, houses a vast knowledge from the ways of combat to the ancient history of the great houses. One could say topping even the Imperium’s prestiged schools.
The school has four buildings, Main Dormitory (tallest tower), Main Library (second tallest tower), Watch Tower (second shortest tower), and Main Lecture Hall (shortest tower), with an outside dining balcony.

Runner Ups

CHOAM

« CHOAM Oasis Facility: Initially created as a water facility, this site now thrives with abundant water and lush vegetation. It showcases the true wealth of CHOAM and the extensive resources at their command.
Features:
– Infinity pool: Pentashields naturally look like water, but it cannot overlap anything at all. Due to this, the foundation for the pool is constructed on a different level than the rest of the base (to bring the water effect closer to land), and part of the garden area is actually ‘floating’ with minimal foundation support.
– CHOAM Centrepiece: Heavily inspired by the CHOAM logo (black & white semi circles with a black ring). The flower design was included to suggest the presence of plant life within the facility. »

« In 10199 AG, CHOAM launched a new expedition in the Hagga Basin. Its goals were to prospects local resources worth exploiting and find if there was any salvagable infrastructure left in the basin. Most of the infrastructures created in the region in the past were occupied by various rogue groups and it was unclear if any recovery was still possible.
The expedition first settled an outpost in the eastern Vermillius gap. Named Outpost Alpha, it served its purpose as a first foothold for the expedition in the basin as it was never intended as a permanent outpost for the newly started CHOAM operation in the basin.
The expedition pushed its exploration further north towards the Hagga rift in the north east and towards the shield wall in the north west. Located in Jabal Eifrit Al-gharb at the crossroads between Mysa Tarill and the western Vermillius gap, another outpost was designed and developed as a more permanent operational base in the region
Named outpost Beta, the outpost was then further developed to serve as a forward operation base for the expedition in the irradiated waste that is the Sheol region. » – Zathoth, Pimp My Dune

Harkonnen

« Welcome to my Harkonnen Fortress, a monument to the might and menace of House Harkonnen. Designed to dominate both landscape and psyche, this structure is meant to instill awe and fear in equal measure. Its towering, brutalist forms and layered textures evoke the cold precision and cruelty synonymous with the Harkonnen legacy. Silver accents highlight key architectural features, serving as a stark contrast to the dark, oppressive bulk of the fortress, drawing the eye while suggesting wealth and ruthless efficiency… Whether you pause to admire its dark beauty or flee in terror, the fortress has served its purpose. » – Styx, Pimp My Dune

« Perched above the Hagga Rift — where crimson ore runs like blood, and the sand refuses to dream.
Raised by two brothers of House Harkonnen, Twinstar Sanctum crowns a solitary spire at the edge of the Hagga Rift — a deep and jagged scar in the Arrakis crust, rich in erythrite and cobalt. To the Imperium, it stands as a symbol of order imposed upon wilderness: a bastion of surveillance, extraction, and frontier control. To CHOAM, it is an anchor of supply — a grip on cobalt essential to the function of spice crawlers, ornithopters, and Holtzman field systems. Atreides

« I wanted this Arena to shout ATREIDES from every detail. I concentrated on depth and detail and angles. Please take a while and even zoom in on the images, there are surprises at every turn. I specifically wanted to highlight the natural beauty of the Atreides build set by letting their natural snaps shine through.
For the building contest I didn’t want to build a base. I wanted to build just one building and see how grand I could make it.
The Atreides Battle Arena features a 12 sided tessellation pattern with 4 unique wall designs. The center piece wall is a combination of angles and depth to create an Hawk-like structure.
It sits on an advanced sub fief plot with 5 stake units and 1 vertical stake unit. The pictures don’t capture the scale and I will be uploading a video in a couple of days.
The arena is fully functional and has a completed interior. Walking through it would feel familiar to anyone who has been to a large football or baseball stadium. » – grahmik, Pimp My Dune

We asked some of our developers to pick their personal favorite buildings, as well as ones we thought stood out for other reasons. These are listed in no particular order.

« Built an open pyramid shape with as much flourish as the game allowed on a land bridge near the harkonnen settlement to have it kind of blend in with the area. It has close access to deep desert fast travel and erythrite underneath. Alot of the unique arches and columns are on the inside including a chapel at the top. I wanted the silhouette to be a little like thorns coming off the corners. Hope some people think this is cool. » – ReaperOp117, Pimp My Dune

« Lot’s of fun this last week and a half! The central upper dome area is off-grid from the rest of the build (using a pillar and triangle roof pieces.) I did my best to hide that but see if you can spot it in photos!

« Onspired by the famous Bull fighting Matador statue from the Movie and Dune Awakening game, I made it into a full base. The body of the bull is a multi level base with storage and crafting station, as well as relaxation spots.
You can access it from one of the rear legs as well as from a hatch on the back. The statue of the man has ‘secret’ room in it. There is also a ‘secret’ room in the platform with the small status in it accessible from a hatch. » – Ideki, Pimp My Dune

« Dune 2021-inspired Atreides sun bunker, completed with sacred palms, a bridge across the valley, and open concept ornithopter landing pad, capable of fully shielding two assault thopters. No pentashields and no doors, people are free to visit as they please. » – Lotukkab, Pimp My Dune

« The Eagle’s Nest is a high spire arial palace for the Harkonnen. Very dark and boding, its high vantage gives an amazing 360 view with amazing sun rises. The councilroom is forbodeing and one would do well to consider ones words before angering the lord there. The Palace has both servants quarters with room for 20 beds, a kitchen, library, guest bedrooms, dining room, master bedroom, Main hangar, guest hangar and security stations. » – Martin Andersson, Pimp My Dune

« Long before the rise of the Titans, an ambitious project was launched to recreate some of Old Earth’s most iconic landmarks across the stars, aiming to spark interest in humanity’s origins. Among these landmarks was the Colosseum of Rome, which was constructed on Arrakis but was lost to the sands millennia ago -until now.

« Toshiko’s Atreides multi orniport. A very difficult work to carry out due to the high altitude and the risk of falling, but I was finally able to give the final touch after 72 hours.

« The Harkolloseum. A DD Harkonen themed battle arena/colosseum. Fight friends, enemies, and the sun in this open air 2x2x2 3up Harkonen Colosseum. The Baron drinks only the freshest water from his fresh corpsed deathstill in his Harkrowned VIP lounge with his own personal landing pad. As your legs are about to give out, you spot a glimmer, a reflection of light, near the horizon. Having climbed over the dune blocking your view, an odd shape comes into view. You rinse the sweat out of your eyes, but still cannot grasp what it is your are seeing. Is it a mirage? The sun, the sand, the spice must be playing with your perception. You roll down the dune and approach the building. You are greeted by a women dressed in alluring garments. She welcomes you in.

« Greetings Everyone! Long time builder here, but my first entry ever into a build contest. I like to use lots of sharp angles in my builds because I think they convey a defiant aesthetic. The spookier I can make something look, the better. This particular build has those ideas/techniques in spades. I was inspired by different shapes of bats for this particular build. Their noses, wings, how they roost, and how they enter and exit their homes. « Shaitan’s Spire is a Harkonnen Stronghold that takes it’s name from Dune lore reference of a « Shaitan » .. or « Demon », loosely translated..
This base has one of the most unique hangar bays I have yet to see in game. The base idea was a hive featuring interconnected bays, with ample space for multiple orni’s in each bay. The entire hangar is positioned above the main base with dual ramps to each side. Underlighting and the ability to simply fly through straight across from either side is a well thought out design feature. « I’m a player from South Korea who enjoys Dune: Awakening and Conan Exiles. I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce a part of Korean culture, and through this contest, I would like to share a creation inspired by one of Korea’s most beloved historical figures — Admiral Yi Sun-sin, who is revered in Korea as much as Admiral Nelson is in the West and Europe. Admiral Yi strategically utilized a warship known as the Geobukseon or “turtle ship.” Unlike other ships of its time, it featured a dragon head on the bow. This dragon head could emit smoke or fire and amplify the sound of cannon fire, creating a terrifying psychological effect on enemies.
