Attention.
I am Tamzin Flaxenraad. My former duties involved the meticulous collection of your base taxes. Since my station in Arrakeen was rendered redundant by your sudden lack of fiscal responsibility, I’ve been relegated to ensure you read this article. Per the directive, I am presenting new concept art and a selection of player-built structures none of which, I note, are currently being taxed. We shall also address the Spice in Thought data.
Proceed. Time is a resource you are currently wasting.
Round Up
Patch 1.3.10
Despite the lack of a proper tax base to fund such endeavors, the Ruins of Tsimpo are now accessible. I suggest you inspect them immediately. We have also added five Landsraad Missions to the queue (as if you weren’t already busy enough avoiding your civic duties).
Additionally, regulars from the Salusan Bull Bar have seen fit to adjust PvP damage to your precious vehicles and bases. There are also numerous bug fixes listed. If only it were as easy to “patch” the hole in the Arrakeen treasury.
Full notes are available here.
Battle Rifle Variant
Apparently, we are now distributing specialized Battle Rifle Variant at a cost of…zero Solaris. This reward for your performance during the recent community challenge is available for pickup.
Ensure your presence in-game is logged between March 25 and April 25, 2026. The hardware will be deposited into your customization menu. While the rifle is free, the ammunition remains your financial responsibility. Enjoy your charity.

Dune: Part 3
The community appears to be obsessed with this trailer. But for those who may have missed it, here it is. You can now stop bothering me for it.
The cinematic conclusion, Dune: Part Three, arrives on December 18, 2026. I hope the characters in the film have better luck with their planetary accounting than we’ve had here in Arrakeen.
Developer Deep Dive
You all seemed to enjoy the concept art from the last Signal, so there’s more. This time we’re featuring the Smuggler Heavy and Assault armor by Senior Concept Artist, Filipe Augusto (ArtStation), and Smuggler Stillsuit by Character Concept Artist Gabriel Blain (ArtStation).

Community Corner
Data follows regarding civilian-produced media. Per the Communinet mandate, we are showcasing these works.
Rewards issued are Atreides Battle Rifle Variant keys per featured citizen. I have been informed that distribution will begin next week.
For those looking to replicate these efforts: proceed with your projects. Be advised that “inspiration” is not a valid excuse for missing your next shift at the spice harvesters.

The Gall has created gorgeous artwork of various OCs on Narbog.

While it’s still a work in progress, we enjoy what we’re seeing so far. This is Valka_Arialitan’s character piloting his newly acquired hunter-seeker. We look forward to seeing it finished.

Spice for Thought
In issue #13 we asked what your preference is regarding the organization of your hotbar. We had some interesting answers and have compiled the data from everyone who answered. You can find many of the answers here on the Discord thread or Steam thread.
- Everyone who answered was very clear that certain tools and weapons had a pretty specific spot for everything; even when it comes to switching certain tools out, the switch will happen in a certain slot. Many of you tend to use slot 6 as the “utility flex” spot.
- “I’m super specific about this, too. I get thrown off pretty easy if things aren’t in this configuration.” – dungeonHack
- The vast majority of you (approximately 85% of those answered) use slot 1 exclusively for melee weapons. The few outliers use it for close range firearms or healing.
- Though there are players like HobosSon who use slots 1 through 5 for all blades and nothing but blades.
- There doesn’t seem to be a consensus on where healing items should be placed. Many mentioned using slots 3, 4, and 5 as they’re closest to WASD and can quickly press it in a pinch. While others use it in slot 8, as it’s organized away from the weapons and other tools.
- “8 is the healkit for me as well. Try it and you know it makes sense.” says Herr Wahnsinn.
- When slot 8 isn’t being used by a healkit, many of you opt to place the Vehicle Backup Tool there instead.
- Many of you refuse to even put water in your hotbar, some saying you’re afraid of accidentally pressing it and wasting your precious water.
- Some of you, like TeaMergency, mentioned certain slots having number associations.
- “4 – Healkit. The square button used to be the healing button of choice on games I first played on the PS2, and the square/four sides association stuck.”
- Binoculars having a spot on the hotbar is very rare, but it was mentioned by a couple players.
- Players like Clari play using a controller, and decide to place medkits in various spots to get healing down quicker and safer.

Closing Words
I trust this information has been sufficient for your needs. Do not expect a follow-up. I have been told my services are no longer required for the next issue. Apparently, the community prefers “enthusiasm” over “accurate ledger maintenance.”
Go about your business. Build your bases. Shoot your rifles, I don’t care. Just remember that while your taxes are currently zero, the cost of an inefficient bureaucracy is always paid in the end.
Transmission Terminated.
