More than one million new players have joined us since the console launch, and we&#8217;re grateful for the response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But we&#8217;re far from done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, we&#8217;re excited to share what&#8217;s coming next for Dune: Awakening, starting with our next free expansion, Blood and Ice, launching December 1 on all platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;re also introducing new in-game events, a cosmetics store, and announcing the work on some of the most-requested features from the community, including offline single-player, character transfers, and full cross-play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Watch our latest developer update for a closer look at everything that&#8217;s coming:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Dune: Awakening - Blood and Ice Free Expansion\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Qa-b9P8RzqE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Blood and Ice \u2013 A New Fight for Survival<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On December 1, we&#8217;re releasing Blood and Ice, a free expansion that takes you to the frozen north of Arrakis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The expansion introduces the Polar Sink, an entirely new survival map where everything you&#8217;ve learned about surviving in the desert will be put to the test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead of protecting yourself from extreme heat, you&#8217;ll need to find ways to stay warm. The technology you&#8217;ve developed to survive the desert won&#8217;t be enough here, and you&#8217;ll need to upgrade your equipment, gather new resources, and adapt your strategies to survive the cold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Polar Sink features two distinct biomes: the tundra and the ice cap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your journey begins in the tundra, where wealthy water shipper families have established lavish strongholds. While conditions here are more manageable than on the ice cap itself, these families won&#8217;t welcome anyone interfering with their operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond the tundra lies the heavily guarded ice cap, the most prized territory of the water shipper families. Finding a way inside and securing access to its valuable resources will be one of your main objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The expansion brings the focus back to ground-level survival, with traversal, temperature management, and combat all playing important roles in your progression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You&#8217;ll also need resources found exclusively in the Polar Sink to craft new survival gear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you&#8217;ve reached the ice cap, you&#8217;ll be able to harvest ice, which can be used to cool your base equipment and speed up production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Blood and Ice introduces around 35 hours of new progression, along with new vehicle modules, augments, and specialization traits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And your journey won&#8217;t end there. You&#8217;ll be able to return to the Polar Sink to gather valuable resources, with future updates adding more reasons to revisit the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;re class=\"wp-block-heading\">Introducing the Cosmetic Store<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we continue developing Dune: Awakening, we want to keep bringing new experiences and updates to players for free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To help support this, we&#8217;re introducing a new cosmetics store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The store will offer optional cosmetic items, including outfits, vehicle variants, and additional ways to customize your bases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Purchases of optional cosmetics will help support continued development and free updates for Dune: Awakening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The store will initially feature a rotating selection of items, including recognizable looks taken directly from the Dune films to coincide with the theatrical release of Dune: Part Three this December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the store grows, we plan to make the full catalogue available at all times, so you can purchase the cosmetics you want without having to wait for them to return to the rotation.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure expanding our in-game events, introducing new stories, gameplay, locations, and free rewards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our latest event, The Scourge, tasks players with investigating a disease spreading across Arrakis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shortly after the release of Blood and Ice, we&#8217;ll introduce another event called Water Crisis, where you&#8217;ll fight for scarce water supplies and work to end the shortage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are our biggest in-game events yet, featuring new gameplay and locations to explore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Going forward, we plan to bring you events more frequently, each offering new stories and free rewards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To make it easier to keep track of everything, we&#8217;re also adding a dedicated Events tab to the main menu with the Blood and Ice expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here, you&#8217;ll be able to follow your event progress and see the rewards available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All events can be completed in both class=\"wp-block-heading\">Offline Single-Player, Character Transfers, and Cross-Play<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;ve heard your feedback, and we&#8217;re working on three of the most-requested features from the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;re happy to share when you can expect them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Offline Single-Player \u2013 November 2026<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Offline mode is coming to single-player this November, allowing you to play Dune: Awakening without an internet connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Character Copying \u2013 January 2027<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting in January, you&#8217;ll be able to copy your character from multiplayer servers to single-player, allowing you to continue your progression in a single-player environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You&#8217;ll also be able to copy characters from single-player to select private servers or self-hosted servers (on PC).
